Orlando is a city in the U.S. state of Florida, being headquarters of the Orange County. With a population of 230 519 inhabitants (estimate 2008) Orlando is the sixth largest city in the state, its metropolitan region exceeds more than 2 million inhabitants, is the third largest. It is located in the central region of the state, possessing a subtropical climate. Swamps are very common in Orlando.

Famous for its tourist attractions such as Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando receives about 60 million tourists per year, being the second most visited city in the world. This includes an huge amount of hotels, cars and guides to meet such demand. Orlando was founded in 1873, and incorporated in 1875.

Besides being a tourist destination, Orlando is also a financial center, currently undergoing a phase of intense growth, with numerous expansion projects being developed. It is also considered by eight years consecutive leading care and research in health care (Florida Hospital), has the second largest university in the state of Florida, (University of Central Florida) and a major league team in the American Basketball, NBA (Orlando Magic).
